In 2023 I embarked on my first ever Quilt Club! A little over a year ago I was busy beavering away behind the seams, working out sizes, squares, borders, batting and drawing and stitching motifs. Here we are, over a year later with a bunch of happy stitchers and loads of gorgeous quilts. Take a look at some of the club-goer's creations:

The club was a mahoosive seven weeks long where we each created a freehand embroidered patchwork quilt inspired by spring flowers and the seaside.

Now, it’s important to note that I’m not a quilt expert, but still, together we ventured on a quilting adventure where many cold winter nights were spent cosied up with a sewing machine, radio four and a nice cup of tea!

This project was a learning curve where I explored the ins and outs of quilting and one thing became very clear; there’s a lot of maths and lot of precision involved!

 But, I got there in the end and seeing everyone's unique quilts finished and looking lovely was the perfect reward.
