Isles of Scilly sketches
I was lucky to visit the Isles of Scilly again this summer, staying on the tiny island of Bryher. I’ve been visiting Scilly on and off for 34 years, almost always staying on St. Agnes and fellow Scilly goers will know that it’s very rare to change islands but we were invited by dear Penzance friends to join them on Bryher, where they’ve been visiting for 3 generations, and we finally said yes.
I have to admit, I really didn’t want to leave Scilly this year, if I could have stayed all summer, sketching, swimming, walking and reading I think I would have, even with the wind and rain lashing at my tent.
I developed a small collection of products for the Steamship Company who run the ferry out to Scilly, to celebrate their 100th Anniversary. In the end the project didn’t go ahead but I didn’t want the designs to stay in a drawer forever, so we’ve made just a few of each item which we’ll be selling on our website.
