Poppy's daughter has been known to spend hours photographing birds at her grandfather's busy bird table and this is where she captured this little blue tit.
Poppy has transformed her daughter's photo into stitch using a bold restricted pallet of blue, yellow and black and the little blue tit has then gone on to be part of our Garden Birds collection, featuring in the tea towel, mug and fabric.
This piece is stitched by Poppy on her vintage Singer sewing machine. The slightly unpredictable nature of drawing in stitch means that the lines have a naive quality to them.
This piece is a one-off original.
