We are lucky enough to see (and hear!) woodpeckers outside our studio. It was the first thing we noticed when we moved from Newlyn and we loved it!
This bold fellow is stitched on a piece of cotton canvas what was marked in the factory but Poppy liked the slight graphic element of the number and decided to work with it.
This one-off embroidery is one of a group of pieces created as a starting point for our Garden Birds collection.
Created by Poppy on her vintage Singer sewing machine. The slightly unpredictable nature of drawing in stitch means that the lines have a naive quality to them.
This piece is a one-off original.
