Prussia Cove can be reached down a windy road narrow enough to put quite a few people off – but the challenging wiggles really do end in spectacular reward. The actual cove is tiny, especially at high tide, with just enough nooks and crannies to keep your privacy as you gaze out over the sea towards the Lizard. And with quite a few beautiful places to stay, all filled with history and charm, there is plenty of choice – if only the walls could talk…

Be the real life king or queen of a castle for a few days by conquering Doyden Castle. This National Trust property is a little fortress at the edge of the cliffs on the Port Quin headland, with sea views all around. With fantastic sea views this is also a fantastic starting point for some delightful walks along the South West Coast Path.
