    Use your loaf!

    Use your loaf!

Is there anyone left who didn’t have a go at making bread of some kind over lockdown?!

Many of us have come away simply appreciating the skills of bakers more, but there are also those of us who now can’t resist the smell of a fresh loaf in the oven and the joy of knowing we have baked it ourselves.

As the UK is gradually emerging from lockdown once more and eating outdoors is becoming the new fine dining, putting together a meal can require a bit more planning and a bit more carrying!

Our bread wraps are perfect for keeping your freshly baked loaf safe, carrying a family load of sandwiches or wrapping round a bowl of something delicious to keep bugs and picky fingers out. With a wipeable, food safe lining and velcro fastening they are super easy to use and keep clean.

We know the bread makers amongst you will have your favourite recipes, but we’ve found this selection which has a variety of options…

Poppy’s bread wrap is often used to protect her sharing bowl of potato salad. The recipe is so secret we couldn’t get it out of her, but here are a few alternatives that look pretty delicious...

Our Top 5 campsites in Cornwall (and we've tried a few!)

When we started writing this blog post Summer had well and truly arrived in Cornwall and we were in the middle of a heatwave! Fast forward a week as we prepare to publish the post and it's pouring down and we're wrapped in blankets! Just a typical Cornish Summer then!

Once you have chosen your campsite, pop along to our website and treat yourself to a little something to take with you to enhance your experience.

Despite this seasonal unpredictability Team Treffry have been busy thinking about their summer holidays and many of us enjoy dusting off the tents and pitching up on a campsite. Even just for a weekend away, camping is really fun and relaxing for all ages. We’ve put together a list of the top 5 campsites we recommend when you’re visiting Cornwall this summer: treen farm top campsites cornwall by poppy treffry  First up is Treen Farm Campsite, right on the Coast Path, near to Penzance and boasting spectacular sea views stretching from the Lizard Peninsula to the Isles of Scilly. It’s great for the outdoors types, with lots of walking, cycling and surfing activities nearby. Next, on to Highertown Farm Campsite near Lansallos, within easy reach of the charming coastal villages and towns of Polperro, Fowey and Looe. Run by the National Trust, it is one of their greenest campsites and perfect for the natural campers as there are no formal pitches, you get to choose your own spot. This campsite has the best view from the wash station in our opinion!

No guide to the top campsites in Cornwall is complete without mentioning longtime favourite Trevedra Farm, located a mile from Lands End, which is as far west as you can go on the mainland. With a popular onsite café and shop, there’s no need for cooking yourself, unless you really want to! It is also a working farm and for 2017 they've upgraded the wash rooms and shower blocks, even better! Close to pretty, Cornish secluded beaches, there are also amazing sunsets from the site. It’s located in a hidden unspoilt valley location and they have a range of wooden lodges as well as a fully restored 1956 Airstream caravan, which we think is really cool! There are also camping pitches for the more traditional campers amongst you! During the high season you can take part in the craft activities on site - we know how much some of you hate to be away from crafting! Activities on offer include silk painting, vintage glamping sewing crafts, painting classes, decoupage art, fun with recycling, bush craft and weaving classes.Coastal vallery campers campsites in cornwall vintage airstream  And last, but by no means least, in our list of top campsites in Cornwall, moving further up the Cornish coast on the outskirts of Bude, we love Bude Meadows Touring Park. The nearest beach is Widemouth Bay, which is popular for surfers and families. The site itself boasts games areas, a shop, a heated pool and a bar. You're also well placed for the Bude sea pool at Summerleaze which is a partially man made natural swimming pool, and a brilliant safe spot to swim with the kids if you don't fancy the sea. And remember, no visit to Cornwall is complete without a little trip to the Poppy Treffry shops in Padstow or St Ives! Hope to see you soon!

This blog post was written by Karen Davey who manages the Poppy Treffry shop in Padstow. Campsites were road-tested by various members of Team Treffry who will stop at nothing to show you much there is to enjoy in Cornwall!
