What Poppy said about being featured in the Country Living magazine:
The morning that Penny was coming to photograph my house for Country Living I was so nervous. I know interiors photographers must see so many amazing houses and there’s nothing like that to suddenly make you feel your space can’t possibly match up – after all, it was a tractor shed 3 years ago! I needn’t have worried, Jo and Penny were genuinely kind and supportive and really understood that I would be nervous and most of all I think they loved the house.
We spent a calm afternoon walking down to the beach and trying to be natural for the camera – the nipper did this much better than me! Then on the second day I just gave them a key and left them to it. I decided that would be easier all round. So in fact I had only seen contact sheets prior to the article coming out.
Designing and building the house was a fantastic experience, and give or take a few wobbles (mainly around taps and worktops!) both Justin and I enjoyed every bit of it. Having amazing builders helped and we would certainly do it again – except we don’t want to move. As well as great publicity for me as a business, the article is a lovely memento of our house and family – captured in all its, tidied up, de-cluttered, carefully curated glory!
